UK Literacy Association National Conference “Multimodal approaches to literacy teaching” – Booking open!

You might be interested in these details about the next UK Literacy Association National Conference which is going to be held in Manchester on March 15th, 2013. The theme this year is ‘Multimodal approaches to literacy teaching.’ This is a great opportunity for all those with a particular interest in literacy and ICT.

This insightful UKLA conference addresses various multimodal approaches for engaging children from the early years to KS3 with all aspects of literacy. It explores innovative uses of ICT to transform literacy learning and examines creative literacy teaching through different modes.  It will demonstrate how a multimodal approach can motivate and inspire young people to engage with literacy in its many different forms in the classroom and beyond. The keynote speakers include Professor Jackie Marsh, Professor Guy Merchant and David Mitchell.

The UKLA is a registered charity, which has as its sole objective the advancement of education in literacy. It is concerned with literacy education in school and out-of-school settings in all phases of education and is delighted to be hosting this conference in Manchester, sharing best practice, fresh ideas and creative, innovative approaches to literacy teaching and learning.
