Cultural Historical Activity Theory Reading Group 2012/13

Cultural Historical Activity Theory Reading Group 2012/13

TUESDAY 2nd October, at 4-5.30pm in EW AG11.

Discussing Michael Holquist’s ‘Dialogism: Bakhtin and his World’

You are invited to join the School of Education’s CHAT reading group. We start this year by reading Holquist’s book on the ideas of Bakhtin. Our first session will cover the first 30 pages or so. We will then continue to meet fortnightly (alternating with the Bourdieu group) at the same time and place.

Reading groups provide a relaxed forum to discover, engage with and develop theory. Students and lecturers come together to make sense of ideas and relate these to both their research and to other theories. Whether you feel that you don’t have a clue, or you think you know it all, there’s a lot to be gained from coming along.

To join the email list for the group and get details of the first session’s reading contactdavid.swanson@postgrad.manchester.ac.uk or find David in B4.10
