Historical Perspectives on Scottish Education

Supported by the Royal Society of Edinburgh Workshops Scheme Date: 21 October 2011 Venue: Royal Society of Edinburgh, 22-26 George Street, Edinburgh

This one-day conference will bring together scholars who are interested in the history of education in Scotland. Papers will range from medieval to late modern, and across all levels of education, both formal and informal.

This will be the first meeting of Historians of Education in Scotland (HEdScot), a new network of scholars supported by the Royal Society of Edinburgh. It is intended that opportunities for publication of papers will arise from this conference and associated events.

Attendance (including catering) will be free to paper-givers, and there will be a number of travel bursaries for Scottish-based postgraduate students attending the conference.

If you would like to present a paper at this event, please send a title and abstract (about 150 words) by Friday 29 July 2011 to Mark Freeman.
